Songs For A Winter's NightCathy Cowette's long awaited CD, Songs For A Winter's Night, was recorded at Grant Avenue Studio, in Hamilton, ON, by Bob Doidge and Amy King. The CD, released in 20015, brings together 12 of Cathy's favorite cover songs, plus one original instrumental. It goes without saying that many of the songs - 6 to be exact - are by Gordon Lightfoot, including the title track, Song For A Winter's Night. Also included are songs by Jim Croce, Kate Wolf, Eric Clapton, Steve Goodman, Dan Fogelberg, and the popular guitar instrumental Anji, by Davie Graham. There is a nice mixture of fingerpicking and strumming, and wonderful arrangements by the very talented Bob Doidge, who also did the arrangements for two of the songs on Lightfoot's 2004 CD (and the recording of the entire album). Doidge plays high-string guitar, bass, accordian, drums ... and sleigh bells ...
